Gym or Home based Personal Fitness Training
Since I qualified in April 2007, I have been a freelance Personal Trainer at Great Dunmow Leisure Centre gym.
If you are a member there, I can provide you with a bespoke training plan to guide you through your gym workouts, designed to achieve your own personal fitness goals. Or I can meet with you on a regular, weekly basis to motivate and challenge you with a bespoke training session.
If you have fitness equipment and space at home and prefer to workout in your own, familiar environment then I can come to you with ideas and suggestions to help you make the most of your workout time.
And during COVID, I became adept at giving clients a total body workout on Zoom and FaceTime, and continue to do so with some clients – maybe this would suit you?

Sports Massage
When I trained in early 2007, the course included a Sports Massage module. Little did I appreciate at the time how relevant and useful this skill would become to my business.
It provides me with an extra service to my existing personal training clients – helping them when they get injured; are preparing for an event & need muscle release & relaxation or following surgery. In addition, I offer this service to local sportsmen & women who may find themselves needing help to return to their activity; and I use it to help relieve those suffering from day-to-day aches and pains.
I have also found that as my knowledge and experience has grown, I have been able to help by combining massage with rehabilitation exercises, Ultra-Sound treatments and return-to-sport exercise plans.

With experience, I have realised that Personal Training is more than just exercise.
If a client allows me to understand them, their motivations, lifestyle pressures and personal circumstances, I will work with them to help them improve their health & well-being. This is best achieved if the relationship with them is trustworthy, friendly and confidential.
Being honest with someone about how they live their life, their diet & eating habits and their daily challenges isn’t always straightforward as some home truths are not easy to hear; but, I have learnt how to be empathetic and help see that my intentions are worthy, professional and supportive; and that by trusting me I can help them achieve a healthier life.

- First Aid trained.
I keep myself fit by running, cycling and working out in the gym.
I love watching all sports, but especially supporting my husband and sons in pursuit of their sporting interests.
Since qualifying I have developed a portfolio of successes, including...
Motivating clients to reach their goals – such as losing weight; competing in a Park Run; being fitter for a sport/daily living/children/grand-children.
Improving the quality of life for clients with life changing conditions – such as Low Back Pain, Depression, Parkinson’s Disease, MS, Arthritis and disability after operations and accidents.
Completing, competing in and/or improving times – for Marathons, ½ Marathons, 10km & 5km races, Triathlons, cycle races & rides, Moonwalks, charity events, competitive events etc.
Rehabilitating after serious injury, accident or surgery – including, hip ankle/knee reconstruction, muscle and tendon strains/sprains.
Combining sports massage with exercise programming – helping clients return to exercise or improve daily activities.
Helping clients to consider how they can improve their lifestyle & diet to have more energy, lose weight, feel better about themselves.
